Train the mind. Improve your performance.
What Is Sport Psychology?
Sport psychology addresses the mental skills that help athletes and performers reach their full potential. Every sport has physical and mental components, yet many athletes do not devote as much time to the mental aspect as they do the physical. A Sport Psychology Consultant helps athletes learn more about how they think and feel, which effects how they behave or perform. Sport Psychology Consultants explore the client's unique experiences in order to teach the skills and tools that best meet their needs.
After assessing her client's needs and the demands of their sport, Sara develops an individualized Mental Agility Action Plan to help improve their mental and physical performance. By training the mind, athletes can experience increased consistency, attainment of goals, enhanced enjoyment, improved ability to focus and refocus, and the ability to cope in demanding situations. Sara believes that the performer is the expert in his or her own experience and that through hard work and the application of mental agility skills, the performer will see gains in many areas of performance.
